Yeah, but you only need to get off at Tanah Merah when you're heading for Changi Airport. Most of the EW-line trains head directly for Pasir Ris from Boon Lay.
So technically, unless you got a Changi-bound train [it will state its final destination on those monitor thingies in the station], you can sit all the way to Pasir Ris. ^__^
