"Saji Crossroad."

"Yep! You remembered my name."

"Who is he?"

"My neighbour! He's called...erm..."

"... >>>>>:| Setsuna F. Seiei."

I forgot how sleek and smooth Exia's movements were. *rewatching parts of S1* I rewatched the 'vs Enact Demo Colors' scene several times just so I could watch Exia retract its GN Sword. *drools*

At first, I was reading a review on MG Exia. XD; Some people noted that while it's very cool and photogenic when it comes to dynamic in-air poses, there're not many action poses you can do with Exia standing on the ground because its ankles and legs are too free-moving. All the free-style poses from this review made me recall how cool Exia was, slicing and dicing its opponents while avoiding enemy fire.

One of my friends remarked, long time ago, that Exia gave off a very 'teenage boy' vibe. :'D Not too surprising since Exia's pilot WAS a teenage boy. And rewatching the Ceylon battle in episode 2, I have to agree - Exia was all "ATTACK FIRST, THINK LATER".

I think I'm going to watch all the battle scenes in the whole series.

Do check out the review by the way. There're some not very flattering, but justified, things that were said about the kit, but it's a generally positive review. Plus the comic at the end is a riot. XD I should look for an equally comprehensive review for PG Astray Red Frame.

Some weeks (?) to go till SE1. \o/

EDIT:
Hey look, it's my journal namesake 8D

EDIT:
I was wondering what exactly was so special about MG Astray Blue Frame 2nd Revise. And then I took a closer look and realised that the backpack is actually the giant sword. O__O

I don't know the series. But I kind of want it. *RESISTS THE POISON* If this Gundam gets animated, I AM DEAD FOR SURE.

I watched ep 12 and 13 in the weekend and I was all *rawr Exia* There wasn't that much fighting in those eps though XD

Mmm SE1..

[identity profile] ratiosu.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 11:08 am (UTC)(link)
I had to rewatch those 2 episodes to remember what they were ahaha. orz But, the end of episode 12, with Exia's shield and swords strewn everywhere and Setsuna's "I can't become Gundam"... ;___;

JUST A FEW WEEKS LEFT, I think. 8D I hear they added more battle scenes. W00T ♥

[identity profile] piledriver.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Lmao I know that scene was so sad ;__; I was like "Noo Secchan you CAN become Gundam" XD

Lets hope someone rips and subs it quickly |D

The animation done on Exia is what sold me to G00. ♥

[identity profile] ratiosu.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 11:58 am (UTC)(link)
It's not hard to see how. *A* I was sold by it...to its gunpla! XD; But really, Exia has this X-factor [I don't know what to call it] in its movements that attracts me to it. I loved Freedom and Strike Freedom [since GS/GSD was my first Gundam series lmao], but they don't have that something that Exia does. :|a Maybe I'm more of a melee person.

I was never a fan of the "hero" Gundams (GGundam, GundamW, GundamX and SEED/Destiny), and Exia's got to be the first.

Exia's got finesse -- he doesn't run/stomp towards an enemy to hack-and-slash it, but he ~glides~, giving him that certain mystique that mecha doesn't usually have. |3~♥

[identity profile] dijeh.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 12:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I love it when MS in general have this sort of smooth movements. It almost makes you feel like it's a huge human fighting. (that's why I liked Strike's batttle scenes; back when Kira was still innovative, heh) The animation also helped a lot. Oh, and I remember my favourite 00 Gundam scene, the one where 00 does some sort of a pirouette and slices the Trilobite with its blades. Awesome. Hopefully, Quanta won't be as top heavy as 00-Raiser, so it will have more sleek movements.

[identity profile] ratiosu.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh boy I was just watching the Trilobite fight only earlier. ;__; I'd almost forgotten about it aha; it was so awesome!! I loved that Sumeragi took charge again when everyone else was panicking, and the way Arios brought 00 to the surface so that it could attack the battleship, only to be intercepted by Sakigake. *__*

And same. One reason why I'm not completely sold on Quanta having Funnels is because Setsuna's style is more hack and slash melee, and 00 Raiser, for all its beam spams, kept it to an extent, with Transam Raiser. Something about using Funnels to take out the other opponents while the Gundam itself focuses on a small number of enemies doesn't appeal to me as much. Maybe I'm just afraid that Setsuna+Quanta will end up like Kira+Strike Freedom and Michael+Throne Zwei. XD;

[identity profile] dijeh.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 12:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Sumeragi is just awesome, simple as that. I loved how she came and said, with that devious smile, "I have an idea kekeke". I think her, Setsuna and Tieria are the real base of the remaining CB crew.

Someone once mentioned that Setsuna could use the funnels (bits? fangs?) the way he used his swords in S1, i.e., instead of lolthrowing them at the enemy, he'd be able to take them back. I'd be fine with them, as long as the design looks cool and they don't do all the job for Setsuna.

[identity profile] ratiosu.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 12:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Agree!!

Ohh...that's a possibility. Also lmao, that reminded me of the way Setsuna threw his swords at Zwei's Fangs. So much cooler than LOLHUGEBEAMOFDOOM. And more sleek Exia movements, oh myyy. *____* Incidentally, [livejournal.com profile] maple_rose and I once talked about how Setsuna loved throwing his weapons at people and potentially losing them. XD; Setsuna must either go back to retrieve them after battles or CB has a very big inventory of back-up GN Sword IIs.

[identity profile] dijeh.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahah, I've always been amazed at the number of spare parts/weapons CB have. Seriously, the Gundams ALWAYS lose or damage something. Imagine Ian's face after the battle in episode 50. And IIRC, they never bothered to retrieve the lost weapons. There's this scene in the beginning where Kyrios throws away its missile containers (I think) and HRL gets them, but they get no valuable info. Not that it matters now anyway, because the ESF already has the Gundam data.

[identity profile] ratiosu.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 02:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Poor Ian is one very overworked man. He even sounds like one in the dub - he always sounded so pissed, which amused me a little. XD Even if CB is funded by many super-rich people like Wang Ryumin and Alejandro Corner, there's got to be a limit to the amount of money they spend on weapons. *chalks it up to Gundam physics/finances*

Ohh I remember that part. I wonder if Tieria went back to retrieve all of Virtue's armour after his two battles with Nadleeh. xDDD

[identity profile] maple-rose.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, that comic XDDD (GN Cloth, wonder what its powers are XD)

I don't usually like melee, but Exia is so awesome. It's so sleek and agile compared to most other main Gundams (including 00). And of course fluid andd HD animation helps *__*

wow that sword is HUUUGGGEE (yay anime physics!! XD). Actually Astray Blue Frame has been animated (into a 5min OVA XD): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pGK1QILwC8 (Red frame has been animated as well)

[identity profile] ratiosu.livejournal.com 2009-09-15 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Doesn't fly into your face, unlike regular cloth, so you retain your cool appearance when you appear with the GN cloth. 8D

Yes, definitely!! Plus Exia's design is pretty original. The HUGE GN Sword and the way he uses it had me sold too. *O*

Ahhh Astray Blue Frame. *A* The transformation of the backpack into the giant sword is less fluid than I would have liked, but still cool nonetheless. Also reminds me of how pretty SEED's character designs were. XD I miss those uniforms!!

[identity profile] perarduaadast.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
You don't want the Blue Frame model. Unless they've done some major improvements on it, it falls apart and is ridiculously EVERYWHERE-HEAVY and refuses to stand. It makes me sad. ;_;

[identity profile] ratiosu.livejournal.com 2009-09-15 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
;_; Now that you mentioned it, I can definitely see those flaws coming into play with this kit. If the prototype pics from the earlier exhibitions are anything to go by, it looks like you need a whole separate stand for the huge sword alone. I should wait for reviews before I make any decisions; maybe by then, my urge to buy it will go down. XD
